Resumen
Los autores examinan los conflictos entre los requisitos de la teoría fundamentada y las exigencias institucionales para la investigación científica, tal y como son experimentados por investigadores y estudiantes. La visión general de cómo la teoría fundamentada fue concebida originalmente sirve como antecedente para el análisis de los problemas que con frecuencia enfrentan los usuarios de esta al presentar proyectos de investigación ante comités académicos o de becas. Se discuten tres aspectos especialmente polémicos que surgieron de los datos analizados: la circularidad del método general de investigación, la suspensión de referencias a marcos teóricos y el muestreo teórico. Los participantes de este estudio exploran algunas posibilidades para superar dichos conflictos.
